Great news for schools' rugby!
Congratulations Chris!
Decades of service to schools rugby at the top level has been rewarded: Chris Kelly (one of ERFSU's two RFU Council Members) has been elected Junior Vice President of the RFU, meaning he will be President in 2018/2019 and demonstrating the respect RFU Council Members have for the work of schools rugby - and that means all school rugby teachers

Thanks!

At a luncheon during the U18 VIIs day Alpha Foundation chairman Howdy Binning presented a cheque for £1,500 to Kent Schools' Chairman David Bowers. Howdy said, "Our trust aspires to support activities that give meaningful and fulfilling experiences to young people. That way they are more likely to tread their way through adolescence without getting into trouble."
Girls' Inaugural 'Pitch Up and Play'!

On Wednesday 18th November 2015, John Fitzpatrick, i/c Kent Schools Rugby Development for Girls and a teacher at Dartford Grammar School, ran our inaugural ‘Pitch up and Play' at Dartford Grammar School. The event was organised to allow girls a chance to experience more game relevant skills, in addition to building relationships with players from different schools.  Girls from Dartford Grammar School, Simon Langton Grammar School and Maidstone Grammar School attended.

Over 30 girls took part in the sessions, led by Catherine Spencer (former England Ladies captain) and John Fitzpatrick.  The event was an enormous success, showcasing a great deal of talent, but above all else, the sportsmanship that accompanied it.  We hope that this will be the catalyst for another successful season for the Kent Schools Girls' Rugby.

More congratulations!

Three more of our hard working committee received national awards at ERFSU's Awards Dinner, held following the AGM on 4th July 2015

ERFSU recognised the extensive contributions over a long period of
David Clent & Pete Ebbage by awards for Services to Schools' Rugby. Tom Sutton, standing down after 10 years as ERFSU's Safeguarding Manager, was made an Honorary Life Member

Our own AGM on 12th May 2015 saw the election of four new members to te committee
making it the largest we have had for several decades.
So a warm welcome and thanks to Bill Burton, Charlie Cutting, Bob Frame and Matt Lister

In recognition of the huge amount of work our Administrator (Secretary / Treasurer)
does  [He's the web's editor so he can flatter himself without interference!]
David Turner received a Valued Volunteer certificate signed by
RFU President Jason Lennard

Thanks Wyn!.
At the same time we are saying goodbye to one of our longest serving members, Aerwyn Watson, who is retiring back to his roots in West Wales after 31 years. Wyn moved to The King's School, Canterbury from Lancashire and has held senior positions within England Rugby Schools [ERFSU] including those of Treasurer of the England U16 programme and England U16 selector. In 2014 he was made an Honorary Life Member of England Rugby Football Schools Union.
